All virtuoso sums are out-of-date. This will be fixed.
To protect you, we now have 2 security practices. The first one you really need to know about to protect yourself. All of our applications made after the 15th of October 2007 have been digitally signed to prevent tampering. Any tampering with the files will result in the signature being invalid, which is something you need to learn to detect.To start the process, right click on the executable you wish to check. Then click 'Properties'. Then choose the 'Digital Signatures' tab in the Properties window. If the window does not have a 'Digital Signatures' tab, then it has been modified.
The second practice is generating verification sums. With our new project 'Virtuoso File Integrity Checker', all programs will be checked before we upload them. On each project page, there will be the Virtuoso Sum(s) for the downloadable file(s). Simple open the file integrity checker, and use the 'Expected Virtuoso Sum' to verify the file.
If all of these things check through fine, then your product is genuine, and is safe for use.
